last four years. that's the very latest from chicago. i am george howell reporting. smoking pot for recreation is legal in two states. voters in washington and colorado voted to approve measures that would legalize the sale of marijuana to adults without the need of a doctor's prescription. a similar measure failed in oregon, however, federal law does stipulate that marijuana is illegal. congressman andy harris is the only republican to serve maryland in the federal governor. >> brian kuebler spent the night with the state's republicans. >> reporter: the voters of district one put andy harris in office for a second straight term in the u.s. house of representatives. in the speech he says the nation faces serious challenges and that he has confident to take on those challenges. he believes in american greatness and he says he will not apologize for it. our government he added can't work if only half the legislature is doing its job. laying blame on the gridlock of

in the blue. this is because we are going to be seeing some snow today accumulations up to 1 to 2 inches and it's going to be/y accumulation on the roadways. you will see the snowy accumulations on the grassy surfaces and along the mailboxs but we will start out with rain which we are receiving across the area. and with that, that's why it will be more slush going through the rest of the afternoon. but we are going to see the rain which is the heavier ran along the eastern shore right now. and it will begin to switch over to a wintery mix and then by this afternoon, we will get more snow across the area. that will linger as we go through the overnight hours as well. so, very cold temperatures in place already. temperatures coming in at 33 degrees in pylesville and 36 in frederick and shadyside at 38. wind will be a component as well. a nor'easter will bring a northeast wind across the area. about 5 to 15 miles an hour with gust up to about 30, 35. and possible as we go into the afternoon. also as we go into the

afternoon we will stay cold. our high temperature at midnight was 40 degrees and we have been going downhill ever since. right around 3, we will be at 35 degrees. make sure to bundle up because we will feel like we are in the 20s. let's check the abc2 time saber traffic with lauren cook good morning. >> reporter: good morning. crank the heat in the car. turn out seat warmers it's going to be a cold one and we are dealing with a crash in anne arundel county. it's blocking one westbound lane of route 50 at row boulvard. no significant delays though as you travel from the spur to 97. for those of you using 95 in howard county no problems to report. it will be nice and clear from columbia all the way to downtown baltimore that stretch will take you 13 minutes and in baltimore city, we are dealing with a traffic alert in fells point. an investigation is ongoing into yesterday's fire. so the northbound lanes of south broadway will be shut down that's going to be right between eastern avenue and fleet street. as we check in and look at main lines, this is what the beltway

>> reporter: at watch parties president obama and governor romney supporters reacted to the outcome. and though the stall i -- tally is not complete here in florida president obama supporters were able to celebrate a historic victory last night. >> >> reporter: i am in palm beach where national race may be over but the race in this state is not over yet. still several key races without the final numbers coming in at this point. and another race up for grabs at 18th congressional district where incumbent republican allen west is losing to democrat patrick murphy by a razor thin margin. this race very well could lead to a recount possibly even legal challenges. >> reporter: i am kendall harold in cincinnati. president obama did something here tuesday no other democrat did in recent history he won back to back victories here in hamilton county. he won here in hamilton county 51% to 46% for a romney making it it third time they selected

a democrat in a presidential election. the president had an early edge due to early voting. early on last night with 19% of the votes reported here, obama was up nearly 57% over mitt romney's 42%. and, of course, it did all come down to ohio. president obama surpassed the 270 electoral votes with the victory here in the buckeye state. >> reporter: i am in cleveland and we were ready for an all nighter but didn't need it. ohio was called for the president before midnight. now both campaigns spent major time and money here in northeast ohio and around the state for that matter. but in the end just like four years ago, the president took the state 18 electoral votes. you know why that is, too. thanks to associated press exit polls you know the president's bail out of the auto industry had something to do with it as well as backing from unions and blue color workers here in the
